At the end of 2024, InPlace was included in two support programs for companies in Rio Grande do Sul. One of these was the TecNova 3 RS Program, which is hiring InPlace to improve our product. InPlace's proposal is a SaaS that allows the implementation and emulation of digital systems projects using a PC. Through the TecNova 3 Program, InPlace will have financial resources to port this technology to microcontrollers.

The proposed product will drastically reduce the cost of access to digital system design prototyping technologies. Currently, professionals, teachers and students verify the operation of digital system designs with the help of an electronic board containing an FPGA at a cost of approximately R$1,000. The new solution will allow the prototyping of digital systems on boards with embedded microcontrollers at a cost 10 to 20 times lower. This technology will TREMENDOUSLY reduce costs compared to the current solution. We believe that this proposal removes barriers to ATTRACTING and, mainly, RETAINING young talents for the semiconductor and embedded electronics area. This is in RS, Brazil and the World, since the demand for these professionals is global.
The Tecnova 3 Program will be implemented by FAPERGS - Rio Grande do Sul State Research Support Foundation , which, together with SEBRAE RS , Badesul Desenvolvimento , Secretariat of Innovation, Science and Technology of Rio Grande do Sul and FINEP, represents the Rio Grande do Sul society. InPlace is excited and happy to have been selected and hired by this program. We have the opportunity to return this investment in the form of educational EDA software that will open doors to professions that are increasingly present in Rio Grande do Sul society. Our tool is designed to facilitate the teaching of future digital circuit designers, professionals responsible for developing the chips embedded in the most advanced cell phones and present in our daily lives.
By the end of the project, we hope to deliver to the people of Rio Grande do Sul an accessible, easy-to-use solution based on semiconductor industry standards. This way, we will have tools that will allow us to attract new talent to the semiconductor sector, thus paving the way for the development of an industry that offers highly qualified jobs with a lot of added value for the state of RS.
